Overview
Uzbekistan stands out in Central Asia for its rich history and distinct heritage. The region’s settled lifestyle, dating back to the 6th century, contrasts with the nomadic societies surrounding it. This history is evident in the enduring structures of Khiva and Bukhara, iconic for their towering fortresses.
The country has seen a convergence of civilizations: from the Bronze Age Scythians creating grand burial mounds to the influence of Alexander the Great and the spread of Islam from 700 AD onwards. Tamerlane’s reign in the 14th century marked a golden age, evident in Samarkand’s Islamic architecture, like Registan Square and Gur-e-Amir, housing Tamerlane’s tomb.
Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva showcase Uzbekistan’s historical wealth through their stunning architecture, bustling bazaars, and traditional crafts such as silk production, carpet weaving, and ceramics. Nukus hosts a collection of avant-garde Soviet art, smuggled out of Russia in the 1930s, offering a unique artistic experience.

Day 1:
- Arrival Tashkent airport
- Clear Immigration and transfer to Domestic Airport by bus for connection to Urgench.nd transfer to Domestic Airport by bus for connection to Urgench
- Arrival Urgench Airport
- Transfer to Khiva (Approx. 1 hour Drive)
- Early check-in and Breakfast.
- Rest and free time to enjoy the vibrant old Bazaar of Khiva where you will find Arts, Crafts, exotic Embroidery items, spices, nuts, carpets and silks.
Day 2:
- Khiva
- After breakfast meet guide and start city tour
- Madrasah Allakuli Khan: Built in the middle of the XIX century with the richest decoration in Khiva.
- Ata Darvaza: One of four gates of Ichan Kala dating back to 1842.
- Kalta Minar - Translated as “short”. Initially, it was expected to become the highest minaret in the East.
- Tosh Hovli Palace – Translated as “a stone courtyard”; built during 1830-1838 to replace Kunya Ark.
- Islam Khodja Minaret and Madrasah
- Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum - a famous poet and wrestler of XIV century.
- During excursion visit Zarafshan’s local bakery
- Overnight at Hotel
Day 3:
- KHIVA- BUKHARA DESERT OASIS – Transport by private coach to Bukhara Oasis
- On the way we will be stopping to view the Amudarya River.
- BUKHARA ACCOMMODATION: Yurts – all Yurts have their own private bathroom
- A new thematic tourism facility in the Bukhara region.
- Encounter a very different experience in this vibrant Oasis and sleeping in the Yurts for one night. Capture the unique and enjoyable experiences in the staged performances, fashion shows, optional activities and concerts available not forgetting the local culinary cuisine in Uzbek dishes.
- Drive to Bukhara – approx. 40 mins
Day 4:
- Bukhara
- Hotel: Dunyo Palace Hotel or similar
- Visit the mausoleum of Abu Hafs Kabeer and the first mosque in Central Asia built by him, Lunch
- Visit Bolo Hauz Mosque, Ismail Samani mausoleum
- Check-in hotel and free time until 5 PM
- Excursion in the old city:-
- Madrassah of Nadir Diwanbegi, Labi Hawz, madrassah of Kukaldash and the khanagah of Nadir Diwanbegi
- Dinner and back to the hotel by bus.
Day 5:
- BUKHARA
- Meals: Breakfast
- Collect the luggage at reception and check-out the hotel
- After breakfast visit Bahauddin Naqshbandi complex and the summer palace of Bukharian rulers Sitorai Mokhi Khossah
- Lunch
- Also visit madrassah of Ulugh Bek and madrassah of Abdul Aziz Khan, trade domes of Bukhara which were famous as hubs of the Great Silk Route.
- Dinner – back to the hotel
Day 6:
- BUKHARA - SHAKHRISABZ (270 km 4hr: 30mins)
- Meals: Breakfast
- Collect the luggage at reception and check-out the hotel
- After breakfast visit Bahauddin Naqshbandi complex and the summer palace of Bukharian rulers Sitorai Mokhi Khossah
- Lunch
- After lunch the bus takes the group to the train station.
- Bukhara to Samarkand fast train at 2:34 PM
- Arrival in Samarkand at 4:17 PM
- SAMARKAND – Konstantin Palace or similar
- Check in hotel
- Free time till 6 PM
- Dinner – Proceed to the Registan square night light show
- Overnight in Samarkand
Day 7:
- SAMARKAND
- Bibi Khanym Mosque - in the 15th century it was one of the largest and most magnificent mosques in the world.
- Famous Siyob bazaar.
- Shah-i-Zinda - 'Tomb of the living King' an avenue of Mausoleums with one of the richest tiles works. It is connected with the legend that Qusam ibn Abbas, a cousin of the Prophet Muhammad (swa) is buried here.
- Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum - the final resting place for Timur (Tamerlane), his two sons and two grandsons.
- Registan Square tour in the evening to see the lights.
- Overnight at Hotel
Day 8:
- After breakfast check out of the hotel and proceed for city tour with our luggage, Visit:
- Imam Al Bukhariy Mausoleum - the most respected Saint in the Islamic world (under rennovation now and can be visited from outside only).
- Ulugbek Observatory - one of the finest observatories in the Islamic world.
- Visit Konigil village which is famous for their papers
- Take evening train Afrosiyob (1805 - 2020) to Tashkent.
- Transfer to hotel – Hotel Roadside by Khorrot or similar
Day 9:
- Meals: Breakfast
- After breakfast commence city tour.
- Old City: Khastimom complex (Barak Khan madrassah, Tillya Sheikh mosque, Kaffal Shashiy Museum and Holy Koran, Kukaldosh Madrassah, Chorsu bazaar ( if time permitting) Visit Kukcha mosque and the mausoleum of Sheikh Zain Ud Deen where you can see chillah ceremony of Sufis
- Visit Tashkent TV tower at night then Tashkent city park
- Overnight in Tashkent
Day 10:
- TASHKENT
- Amir Temur Square - a central square in the Uzbek capital Tashkent
- Walk on Sailgoh (Broadway) Street.
- Independence Square
- Romanov’s Former Palace (from outside), built in 1891 in the center of the city, under the project of architects A.L. Benoit and V.S. Geyntseltsman Navoi Theater Square - The first Central Asian professional musical theatre.
- In the evening proceed to Magic City.
Day 11:
- Breakfast
- Transfer to the Airport for London Heathrow
